created from experience, built on science

Portion was created to simplify eating well in a world where food has become confusing, overwhelming, and often all or nothing. Diet culture teaches tracking, restriction, and willpower, yet for many people these approaches fail not because they lack discipline, but because modern portion sizes and food environments make it hard to know what “enough” actually looks like.

Portion was developed by Sarah, a woman who struggled with her weight for most of her life. Like many others, she tried every popular diet including keto, low carb, calorie tracking, and clean eating, only to find that no matter the rules, she would eventually eat more of whatever foods were allowed. The issue was never the food itself. It was the portions. Rules changed, but habits did not.

With over 13 years of experience working in psychology, Sarah understood that lasting change does not come from restriction. It comes from behaviour. Research shows that our brains respond to visual cues, repetition, and environmental structure far more than motivation or self control. Portion was designed using these principles, creating a system of plates and containers that guide balanced portions automatically, without counting, weighing, or guilt.

At its core, Portion is about balance, not perfection. There are no forbidden foods and no pressure to eat perfectly. The system works with real life, including family meals, takeaways, busy workdays, and treats. Over time, it helps retrain portion awareness, rebuild trust with food, and create habits that actually last.

Portion exists to support a healthier, calmer relationship with food built on understanding rather than control.

“I didn’t need another diet. I needed a way to understand portions in real life. PORTION is what finally made eating well feel simple, calm, and sustainable.”
